Rickenbacker

Rickenbacker are another very well known brand, producing high quality, great looking guitars. With over 80 years of business behind the company, Rickenbacker continue to stay at the leading edge of music trends. Founded by Adolph Rickenbacker and George D. Beauchamp, the pair produced Rickenbacker Electro Instruments - the first modern electric guitars. Rickenbacker was favoured by the Beatles in the 60's and continues to hold its popularity with many of the famous musicians today.

Ibanez

This Japanese guitar brand is owned by Hoshino Gakki. Ibanez was one of the first brand of guitars to mass produce the seven-string guitar, they were also one of the first Japanese musical instrument companies to gain a secure position in selling imported guitars to the US and Europe. The company began in 1908 with the Ibanez brand name dating back to 1929 when Hoshino started importing Ibanez guitars from Spain. These imported guitars were destroyed during the Spanish Civil War and Hoshino Gakki decided to buy the brand name rights and began making Spanish acoustic guitars in 1935. Today Ibanez design and produce a fantastic range of guitars with modern and wild looking designs to the more classical look. Martin Guitars

Martin Guitars are a US guitar manufacturer established in 1833 by Christian Frederick Martin. Their steel-string guitars are highly regarded due to their quality. Martin are a leading mass manufacturer of flattop acoustics with models retailing for thousands of pounds and vintage instruments selling at a huge resale value. C. F. Martin & Company have designed many innovations including the Dreadnought guitar in 1916. The Dreadnought guitar was larger and deeper in its body than most guitars giving a much louder bass it was intended to be a useful accompaniment instrument for singers. The Dreadnought was named after the Royal Navy's newly launched battleship at the time meaning nothing to fear - nought to dread.

martin's second innovation was the 14-fret neck in 1929 allowing easier access to higher notes. This became so popular with its longer neck and change in body shape that it became standard on all of Martin's guitars. Martin shortly became an industry leader with the rest of the guitar industry following suit.

Freshman

Freshman are a UK company based in Scotland producing exceptional quality guitars. They are a relatively new company launched in 2002, producing acoustic and electric guitars. Despite being new in the industry, Freshman Guitars have already been awarded 9 Best Buys from Total Guitar Magazine as well as receiving the highest rating of any electro acoustic guitar with a rating of 96/100!

Freshman source only graded materials and believe that the quality of sound is everything. Their guitars are made for both beginners and professionals and are designed by guitarists, for guitarists.

Tanglewood are a British acoustic guitar company founded in 1990 by Dirk Kommer in London. Producing a huge range of exceptional guitars including acoustic and electro guitars, electric and bass guitars, acoustic basses, left handed guitars, guitar packs, cases, tuners and accessories. With guitars sold in more than 35 countries, Tanglewood guitars have won sales awards in 2007, 2008 and 2009 according to MI Pro Trade magazine.
